This links provides a very comprehensive collection of every possible word spoken the English language. It is very useful tool for ESL teachers and students alike. It's easy to navigate for beginners for beginners. I use it in my 6-8 English as a Second language class classroom for all sorts of activities.
2. The Internet for ESL Teachers
This link goes to a website that mainly functions as an extensive list of resources for both ESL teachers and students. It has links for everything imaginable that relates to English Language Learning. I use it as a resource for lesson planning and if students for students if researching something.
3. Colorin in Colorado for ELLs
Colorín Colorado is the premier national website serving educators and families of English language learners (ELLs) in Grades PreK-12. It's an excellent resource for find ideas when lesson planning for English as a Second Language.
4. ESL Lounge
ESL Lounge gives free access to hundreds of ESL lesson plans and materials that can be used for communicative English lessons in the classroom. The majority of resources are geared towards getting students talking. I mostly use it for lesson planning or instructional design. for every level of English as a Second Language Learning.
5. Linguistics for Teachers of ELLs
On this site, you can learn some of the basics of each of these areas of linguistics, how they play a role in the English language development of students, and activities to help students learn social and academic English in the classroom. I use this resource for gathering background knowledge about my students.
6. Reading Rockets
Reading Rockets is a national public media literacy initiative offering information and resources on how young kids learn to read. Although this resource isn't directly related to English as a Second Language, it provides a wealth of materials to get students reading in the classroom.
7. Valentina Gonzalez's ESL Blog
This resource is mostly meant for educators. Valentina Gonzalez is the owner and as an educational consultant she understands the needs of English as a Second Language teachers. There's everything from videos to worksheets. Ms. Gonzalez has a blog she posts regularity with tips and trends useful to ESL educators.
